Fishing Reports for May 2025
Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 30th
The weather was very fine Sunshine & calm seas for the two days , With the Swansea boys on board the craic was good too And now to the fishing which saw plenty of Pollack and some good ones landed too , with Cod Coley Wrasse and we also landed a Bass which got me thinking about the next days, every fish was returned alive today including the Bass. and along came Wednesday and we were on the Bass from the start but we left them to fish the far Eastern marks when the tide suited, there we landed lots of Pollack again with some Coley and Wrasse then when the tide turned and got strong to East we moved to a Bass mark and Landed and returned over 20. summing up we had a great couple days out with all Fish returned alive
Thursday 1st May
The morning session saw good Bass Fishing every one landed some then it was on to the East marks again but today the fish were very shy there compared to the previous day we had few more Bass on the way home, every one had a good day, the Bass on the light gear made it
Friday May 9th
Went West to Hook Hd Grounds I hadn’t being up to there for a couple years we always done well there but today it was very disappointing just a few fish there might be other factors at play up there which i wont go into here

Uptiding Winter Fishing
As the Autumn roll’s on and winter approaches Autumn Dream will be changing tactics too . During the April to October season we generally fish clean water with good visibility and mostly on the drift , as Winter approaches the sea bed sediments get stirred up with bad weather reducing water visibility to zero at times , to counteract this we must Anchor up and fish with bait (uptiding) drawing Fish to us, species like Huss, Conger, Tope, Cod, Ling, Bass and others.
Will be starting fishing at anchor on the week starting 18th November (neap tides)

Lure Fishing Trips
I do Lure Fishing Trips its great fun on light gear (spinning rods) For Bass (bag limit 2 fish per person) Pollack ( Min Size 40cm) & Cod (min size 40cm) with some fish to double figures. we prefer persons have own gear but we can supply, I would recommend Weston Sandy Andy or Savage lures, of at least 20g to 40g for shallow Marks and 40g to 60g for the deeper marks
Murphys Tackle, Wexford for all your equipment for lure fishing
